Right before our Big Bad Beats party #5, our fourth interview is for The Teknoist (a.k.a. Miike The Teknoist). If you’re in Paris October the 6th do not miss the set of this Manchester based artist who released tracks on many well known labels. He always plays Big Bad broken Beats.(version francaise ICI)
The Teknoist, we don’t see you often in France. Can you introduce yourself to the French crowd ?
I’m from Manchester, UK. I’v been doing this thing non stop since I was a teenager. My influences are pretty much everything you can think of from my peers to film to every day stuff I see and experience.
The UK Hardcore (what we call UK hardcore = hardcore with breaks) scene has always had a big influence on hardcore, but you guys seem to play more around Europe than in the UK. Why is this ?
A lot of the UK crowd want more straight sounding gabber influenced hardcore. Stuff not so detailed. This isnt all nights of course but there are more like that than not. Europe have a much more open mind compared to some crowds in the UK
