Known for his ravaging DJ sets, he has constantly been pushing the boundaries of Drum N Bass to the hardcore and gabber territories.
This skullstep icon is Hard Bass Dealers’ guest this week, with a set that was recorded live at Deep Kutz in Nijmegen, the Netherlands for Halloween.

The Panacea, we’ve seen you a few times in Paris, yet people do not know you much here. Can you tell us a bit more about yourself, your musical background, your first electronic music experiences, etc ?
I started out with classical music at a very young age, training to be an opera singer. I have a finished education in classical music, I used to play 2 instruments (piano & oboe) and used to sing in germany best boys choir, the “windsbacher knabenchor”. I discovered electronic music at age 12 with early techno like underground resistance and moved on to breakbeat hardcore like messiah and early the prodigy in ’92 and stuck to the uk sound ever since. I went to my first rave in ’92 and that had an everlasting effect on me. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in electronica more than in classical music. Discovering this world I felt like a kid in the candy store, all the musical sub genres and different directions were so very exciting. I felt more at home in that environment than in the very restrictive world of classical music. Even dressing a certain way was a statement! In this day and age I am trying to make every party as inspiring as these years were to me, as if you were attending a legendary rave. This is the essence of The Panacea!

this is the first darkstep/crossbreed sample pack. of course lots of advanced producer will probably don’t pay it attention. I haven’t try so i can say if it’s average or tremendous. But the existence alone of this sample pack is a big thing. It show us two important part :
- big sample pack producer like loopmaster pay attention to the fact that darkstep/crossbreed is a scene with high level and intricate production. Producer in the scene are often as good as more mainstream scene and most of the time far better.
- if a firm like loopmaster pay attention to the darkstep/crossbreed scene it show also that the scene is getting bigger and bigger. Skullstep is the futur you know
