2011 have been a huge year for the darkside nation. That why we have compiled some of the best post of the year. just in case you miss them.

It also have been an huge year for this particular blog. Satanical Bots Ritual have grown a lot. there is now a lot more traffic around 350 hit per day which is not bad for such a hard and underground music style. we have now a facebook page and twitter one so you can spread by your one all the news and keep building the scene. We have also a podcast called Satanicast and lot more to come (but we can tell more for now
The end of the year is always a special time to party but also to bring back what have been new this year. 2011 has indeed been the year of brokencore. We have called here brokencore the new sound that try to melt industrial hardcore with darkstep. Brokencore is now a really important part of the scene bringing hardcore producer to work with broken rythm and darkstep producer to work with industrial distorsion. It’s something that’s great and dark and that work well on the dancefloor. you can also mix it with both darkstep and hardcore leading to more complex and interesting mix for dj and crowd.
In some ways brokencore is a good stuff for darkside nation but what could also destroy darkstep. I will try to explain myself. Darkstep is now at some kind of crossroad. There is a lot more people that like darkstep. Lots of hardcore head that like and listen to darkstep. In some way darkstep is a bit exposed to light and light could kill dark music. I see more and more people mixing darkstep with mainstream anthemish hardcore. More and more pop melodies into pounding hard beats. you can’t say that darkstep isn’t evolving. I’m not again change and in some way a more mainstream part of the darkstep scene is a good thing in the long run. But we all need to be really conscious about this change.
I’m not against melodies : Dj hidden or current value use melodies but challenging, complex, dark ones. I’m not against music a bit more mainstream. But what make darkstep interesting in the first place was (and mostly still is) that every producer has it own style. Limewax drums are not current value sound design that are not serious dark stuff of Dj Hidden. A bit more exposure is good but we got to keep a lot of place for experimentation and creativity. the problem is that the exposure deserve all the hard working and creative producers and not only a fews more popish one
But there is also some other new stuff that are cool. The Bass metal thing of Zardonic or Forbidden Society Recordings that melt metal and drum’n'bass seem to me something really innovative and fresh. Metal grunt or guitar riff share a lot of the aggressivity that darkside nation is about. A lot of darkside producer use to be metalhead and some like Peter Kurten still play in metal band. this could perhaps be the sound of 2012 (before the end of the world
Anyway here is a list (in no special orders )of the best posts of 2011. if you haven’t downloaded this mix check them
