After three single Colmant tunes on Tilt-Recordings…
Sinecore feat. Peter Kurten – “Vendetta” [T-FILE012]
Kriotek – “Borrhot” (Sinecore RMX) [T-FILE026]
Sinecore + Peter Kurten – “Virulence” [T-FILE029]
… it is now time for an EP (and something else soon).
“Arsenic” is a rhythmic bouncer, almost completely dry.
A proper basic loop made of syncopated bass stabs
interplaying with a strong kickdrum and a dry snare,
opened up with creative breaks, is all that is needed.
“The Dead Man Walking” has a similar structure. But
it is rolling more, has a much less prominent snare
and there is a constantly modulated synth line woven
into the rhythmic texture. Techno at its core: melody
functions smoothly as one among other rythmic elements.
Two of Europe’s finest Junglists JungleFever (Amen Warfare/Lickshot) and Stivs (Life4Land) combine forces to launch their new label Bomba Cut Recordings with a little help from Death$ucker Records. Both are veterans in the scene and bring their talents to the dancefloor with this collectable 7″ banger. Limited to 500 copies and cut in the UK for maximum sound system impact. Due for release early September 2010.

In addition to the 24bit audiophile versions offered on the Drumcorps site, the single is also available in standard format via iTunes and will be available at most other major digital stores shortly. Headstrong and Heartfoolish is the first tune from the new album to go public, with eleven more on the way.
Thanks very much for listening, and enjoy the music.
DOA: You first discovered Drum & Bass back in 1999 – what were some of your favorite tunes from that era?
Switch Technique: Definitely Ed Rush & Optical‘s “Bacteria” :creeps: and Technical Itch‘s “Deadline”, then “Bad Acid” by Konflict and the flip for that “Doorway” by Usual Suspects :wetness:, so these are the tracks which I have great memories linked to.
DOA: When did you start producing, and what made you want to start making beats?
Switch Technique: It was not that far from 1999, around late 2001 and beginning of 2002 maybe, I guess so. Main reason why I started to produce was the need to find out how it’s made, simple, at same time I was like “why not, I have nothing to lose“.
